bones_was_hereYESWeapon fire rates that play well are either slow enough that each high-damage shot can be aimed individually, or fast enough to work as a tracking aim weapon. The old HLAC fire rate was somewhere in between making it awkward for humans to use, especially against players with the kind of movement skills common in Xonotic.
carnag3YESHLAC used to be a neglected weapon in Australian servers till a few years ago as it didn't serve its specific purpose as a medium to long range weapon in team games and it didn't compliment MG in areas that it lacked. It went through an evolution during the last few years thanks to bones tinkering and fine tuning HLAC through trial and error and community feedback of veterans of various skill level and over 1000 hours of testing ingame that it became a staple weapon in many maps and has replaced hagar by popular request in almost every map. IMO these changes made HLAC shine as a weapon on its own right and made it distinctive from hagar and increased its usage as evident in our weekly games.
divVerentABSTAINBefore voting for or against, please check if its bandwidth usage is within acceptable range - like try a 16p match with HLAC weapon arena at default client settings to see if any serious lag issues occur.

k9erYESThese changes have been on bones' server for testing for ages now. HLAC usage rate has notably increased, big improvement from the weapon being largely ignored previously. Primary DPS is in a good range, high enough to be useful but lower than Hagar's primary, which is more difficult to use so should indeed have higher DPS. Personally I think the fire rate is slightly too high now, and crouchmod should be 0.5 not 0.25 given the hugely reduced spread_max, but otherwise these changes are overall still a decent improvement.
