Proposal to change mapping procedure according to http://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=2875. tl; dr: Competitive maps should be rather "arenas", with more attention on layout, items, and "Stormkeep" level of detail. "Public maps" should look gorgeous, and fun to play, maybe look like actual places.

of all, I don't think you realize how pretty-ified Stormkeep really is, especially compared to existing competitive maps-- See: Bloodrun. In that regard, if all maps looked as good as Stormkeep, I would be perfectly fine. HOWEVER, I don't think we should make any classification on the requirements for map inclusion like this ANYWAY. No, arenas (boring single room maps like UT's DM-Fractal) are not what we want. REALLY not.

I'll abstain from this *right now* as we lack mappers to gather up in bigger teams actually. Also, without git or something similar, its quite hard to work collaboratively (you could work manually... download someones changes, edit, save, upload); On the other hand I really enjoy working with others on a map as this procedure *hopefully* gets more quality in

it's not that easy to make a stormkeep+like level of detail AND make it look THAT good. Anyway i think we should aim for higher standards, competetive maps are being played on public servers too :)

I don't see a difference between current and this?
