It looks very clear that we need a 0.8.x release. But do we really need to decide this right now? Can't we decide on the next version after 0.8 is released?

let's call it 0.8.1 if we manage to release it within 3 months from release of 0.8 and 0.8.5 if later :o) (actually I don't really care)
