449 | organization | Moderation rule: Communication Channel Rules have a statute of limitations of 20 days as applied to chat, and 1 year as applied to other communication media. Beyond this time, action may still be initiated, but no stronger penalty than a formal warning can be issued (however, calling for a vote on the issue tolls the clock, and of course once a vote has been decided, it may be executed). Previous history can still be used as evidence in decisions about new issues. Exceptions may be granted by the Core Team only in serious circumstances, and this can take place after a poll has started or even ended. | divVerent | PASSED | 6:0(0 abstained, 8 didn't vote) |

bones_was_here | YES | It makes sense to prevent inquisitions or witch hunts because they're unhealthy for any community, however we aren't a big company with a full-time team of internet police so this may need to be revisited if it's too restrictive or depends too heavily on the few remaining core team members. I also want to acknowledge that existential threats to Xonotic aren't always external. |
divVerent | YES | This is to prevent "old things" from being dug out, and also incentivizes the team to rather call a vote than discuss "out of ban" for a long time, thereby speeding up the decision. Serious circumstances that require an exception should only be when required by law or court order, or when the existence of the project is in danger e.g. due to a serious C&D letter. |
Dr. Jaska | YES | I am not aware of any of the current contributors having notably bad behaviour or issues with other contributors. This allows us to focus on what is current and address future situations in a healthy way without devolving into digging up past forgotten dramas. Giving an equal clean slate for everyone, making it so that it is up to them to have healthy and non-toxic communication habits. |
